Chestnut Hill College seeks a proactive, energetic colleague to serve as our Director of Annual Giving. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to think creatively, and the determination to see projects through to completion. Encompassing a variety of work, with opportunities for interaction with volunteers and donors, working as a team on events, and taking the lead on new initiatives.

The Director is responsible for creating, planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating annual giving strategies that are revenue-producing and advance the overall fundraising strategies of the College, as well as managing the execution of donor events sponsored by the Office of Institutional Advancement.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, higher degree preferred
  • Experience with annual giving programs, direct mail, and personal solicitations
  • Experience in volunteer management, supervision, and program planning
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with database management
  • Demonstrated success working collaboratively and cooperatively with colleagues, other departments within the organization, and with other organizations and entities
  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to multi-task required
  • Networking and relationship-building savvy, creative problem-solving capability, and ability to work independently in a busy and active environment preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an overall annual strategic solicitation plan using phone, mail, and electronic vehicles to secure gifts for the fund with an emphasis on dollar and participation goals
  • Craft and execute all Griffin Fund communications and appeals for alumni, parents, and friends of all 3 schools (School of Undergraduate Studies, School of Graduate Studies, and School of Continuing and Professional Studies)
  • Strengthen the monthly giving program and build the number of donors participating
  • Use Raiser’s Edge database to generate reports, mailing lists, and to evaluate the outcomes of the annual fund program
  • Generate all lists, segments, and target ask amounts for annual appeals
  • Track outcomes and write reports on progress for various publications and strategic planning purposes
  • Work with major reunion year classes to recruit and train for peer-to-peer fundraising, with liaison responsibility for one class
  • Assist in developing and managing the overall giving communication strategy
  • Create and execute Day of Giving campaign each year
  • Manage annual giving pipeline and associated pool of prospects.Work with major gift officers to identify prospects, develop solicitation strategies, and determine an implementation plan for the strategy
  • Provide necessary documentation and follow-up to donors, internal contacts, and the appropriate College staff and/or faculty
  • Recruit and train volunteers for Senior Class Gift Committee; create and manage solicitation strategy and goal
  • Implement and manage faculty/staff giving campaign
  • Collaborate with Alumni Relations and the Alumni Association to create and enhance outreach programs
  • Other projects and duties as assigned by the Vice President for Institutional Advancement

This full-time position requires some evening and weekend work to supervise, direct, or assist with College and OIA-related activities, events, and meetings.
